26/10/09
On November 2, Emanuele Arciuli will make his debut at La Scala in Milan. He will perform a piano recital that perfectly reflects his versatility: a programme that goes from the second half of the 19th century to the end of the 20th century, from Liszt to Sciarrino, through Schumann, Bartók and Carter.

Both
Arciuli performances were astounding.
I’ve not heard that kind of keenly polished playing of advanced piano music since the heyday of David Tudor.

In the footsteps of Pollini...
05/03/09

"L'Espresso", the leading italian news magazine, writes in its 5 March edition: "They are brave soloists, they will follow Maurizio Pollini's footsteps: la nouvelle vague of italian classical pianists. Young artists between their 20s and their 40s, with excellent curricula and many diverse and deep interests. They have gone beyond our narrow borders to promote their art and their careers (...). The post-Pollini seems to be guaranteed. Here are some names of those most in vogue today (...). Emanuele Arciuli, 43 years old and from Bari, has a passion for contemporary music and Vincenzo Vitale was one of his teachers. He has gained the trust of prestigious american contemporary composers, among these Caine, Hersch, Rzewski, Babbitt, Thomas, Torke, Harbison, Daughertym abd Bolcom who wrote for him the collection Round Midnight Variations. Among his records is, as world premiere, the concert for piano and orchestra of Bruno Maderna". (Riccardo Lenzi).

Make
no mistake, Emanuele Arciuli is a major pianist in the
proud Italian traditions of Ferruccio Busoni and Arturo
Benedetti Michelangeli.
