In the footsteps of Pollini...

espresso

"L'Espresso", the leading italian news magazine, writes in its 5 March edition: "They are brave soloists, they will follow Maurizio Pollini's footsteps: la nouvelle vague of italian classical pianists. Young artists between their 20s and their 40s, with excellent curricula and many diverse and deep interests. They have gone beyond our narrow borders to promote their art and their careers (...). The post-Pollini seems to be guaranteed. Here are some names of those most in vogue today (...). Emanuele Arciuli, 43 years old and from Bari, has a passion for contemporary music and Vincenzo Vitale was one of his teachers. He has gained the trust of prestigious american contemporary composers, among these Caine, Hersch, Rzewski, Babbitt, Thomas, Torke, Harbison, Daughertym abd Bolcom who wrote for him the collection
Round Midnight Variations. Among his records is, as world premiere, the concert for piano and orchestra of Bruno Maderna". (Riccardo Lenzi).
